The Tennessee Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (TACVB)  is dedicated to the advancement of issues and activities deemed to be in the best interest of the Tennessee tourism industry and, specifically, the membership of the organization. TACVB's Blizzard IV presented by Miles Media. Thursday-Friday (Jan 21-22) at the Embassy Suites Hotel & Conference Center in Murfreesboro, TN.   Registration begins at 11:00 a.m. and the session will start promptly at noon.   You won't want to miss our special keynote session with Kelly Swanson. Below are some notes to make the event easy, fun & educational for you: Parking is FREE; TACVB registration desk will be set up outside the Mirabella conference rooms.  Exhibitors can use the conference center entrance to bring in materials.  This covered entrance faces Medical Center Parkway.  Exhibitor set-up can begin at 9:00 a.m. Dress is CASUAL -- really, jeans are welcome, as are sweatshirts/logos from your CVB, Chamber, Sports Team, etc.   We want you to showcase your destination and be comfortable for the Blizzard! We are going as GREEN as possible, so if you have a name badge holder from a previous Blizzard, please bring it.  If not, any badge holder is ok.    Reuse, recycle = rewards! There will not be many handouts; some presentations will be available on our website or by request. Cocktail hour on Thursday, 5:30 - 7:00 is the Hotel's Reception.  If you are not staying at the Hotel and would like to join us, tickets are available for $15. Ditto for Friday's 7:00 a.m. breakfast. Thursday night's After Hours gathering is in the Hotel's lounge from 9:00 - 11:00 p.m. and the first drink is on us! When you arrive, just see a staff member for a drink ticket. Lunch is provided on Friday at 11:15 a.m.; Tourism Commissioner Susan Whitaker will begin her presentation around 11:45 a.m. If mapquest directs you to an exit other than Exit 76 (Medical Center Parkway) off I24, don't trust them. The Conference Center is located just off Exit 76. Call 615/254-1233 Monday-Wednesday next week if you have questions.  Beginning Thursday, you can call the hotel if you have an urgent need.  If your hotel room is charged differently than the $99 rate, please bring it to our attention immediately.  Most importantly, come prepared to learn, share and have a good time.  Thursday's "Best Practices" session depends on you -- bring a best practice idea or a problem that needs a creative solution.  We're all looking for the rainbow in 2010!
